I’m The Boss Proves Just That In Leonard Memorial
23 April 2026
NZB Standardbred graduate I’m The Boss (NZ) (Bettor’s Delight) proved she was just that when taking out the Gr.3 Donaghys Pro Equine Leonard Memorial (1980m) at Addington Raceway on Sunday.
The daughter of Bettor’s Delight was a beaten favourite when runner-up to Gottagoodfeeling (NZ) (Vincent) in the Gr.3 Miki’s Deal Southern 2YO Fillies Classic (1609m) at Winton seven days prior, but she wasn’t to be outdone closer to home.
From her outside draw in Sunday’s six-horse field, Who’s The Boss was sent forward by driver Blair Orange and she was eventually able to wrestle the lead off stablemate Wat Fun (NZ) (Bettor’s Delight).
Orange dictated terms up front and the pair were never tested, running out a comfortable half length victor over Wat Fun, with a further 2-½ lengths back to Validation (NZ) (Bettor’s Delight) in third.
“We didn’t really plan to line her up this weekend. For a young horse it’s a big enough trip (to Winton) for them,” Hayden Cullen told Harnesslink. “But she came through the trip really well, was really bright and her work was good, so we thought we’d chuck a nomination in.
“There ended up being only six in it so we thought we might as well have a run around.”
I’m The Boss is out of seven-win Christian Cullen mare Hopes And Dreams, who is out of seven-time Group One winner One Dream, who is also the dam of Group One winner Montana DJ.
I’m The Boss was purchased by Cullen Racing Stables Ltd out of Price Bloodstock’s 2025 NZB Standardbred National Yearling Sale draft for $70,000.
She has now won one and placed in one of her two starts to date and has earned more than $28,000 in prizemoney.
