The $A50,000 Group Three WASBA Breeders Stakes (2130m) at Gloucester Park was little more than a training run for Aardiebytheseaside (NZ) (Downbytheseaside) who remained unbeaten in Australia with her easy victory.

The NZB Standardbred graduate led throughout and never looked in danger of defeat when cruising to victory for trainers Greg and Sky Bond and driver Deni Roberts.

The win continued Aardiebytheseaside’s remarkable return on investment for her owner Mike Tanev.

The brilliant mare was secured by Tanev’s Razer Ridge Farm for just $1500 when she was offered at the 2020 All Age Sale by breeder-vendors Woodlands Stud.

Aardiebytheseaside’s outstanding win took the Group One winner’s record to ten career wins, banking $292,451 along the way.

Following her big win in the Group Two Empress Stakes (2536m) in her Australian debut, Aardiebytheseaside was sent out at red hot win odds in the WASBA Breeders Stakes.

Punters who took her microscopic $1.08 win price never had to sweat as the four-year-old found the front in the early stages of Friday night’s features.

Though Roberts looked to be letting Aardiebytheseaside cruise along at a comfortable pace in the lead, the mare scored in a strong 1:56:1 mile rate.

While her rivals came off the bit before the home turn, Aardiebytheseaside had plenty in reserve as she ran to her second Group race victory in just her second start in Australia.

Bloodstock investors will get their chance to buy their own version of Aardiebytheseaside at the upcoming National Weanling Sale on May 23.

Breeders of Aardiebytheseaside, who stand sire Downbytheseaside, will offer 12 youngsters by the standout sire in the Karaka sales ring.
